About the Town

Though the town looks like it’s a relic of the cowboy and Indian days, you won’t find any outlaws here. Now real cowboys are a thing, seeing as they are out back practicing roping steers and polishing up their rope tricks. But this town never saw the old west days. Tim Marsh started building Circle M City thirty years ago. He researched the building styles and collected and curated decor that was appropriate for the time to outfit each and every building himself. Tim and Michelle Marsh come from generations of cowboys and they wanted to share their love of the west with you.

THE OLD TIME PHOTO SHOOTS with a massive collection of clothing from the pioneer era. Ladies dresses, complete with hats, feathers, hand fans and jewelry . Will you be a cowgirl, a high-society lady or outlaw? Men become the Cowboy you dream about sporting leather vests, chaps, fringed jackets, waistcoats, boots, bowlers and cowboy hats. Getting dressed and showing off is a barrel of fun.

THE OLD WEST MUSEUM features a self-guided tour of the history of the cowboy days, showcasing the role of horses, outlaws, bandits and the lawmen that tamed the west. Exhibits cover the role that people of color played in equine history, including Native Americans, Mexican Vacqueros and African American cowboys like the Buffalo Soldiers and “Bulldogger” Bill Pickett. We move through time into the Hollywood glam era and movie stars like Clint Eastwood and John Wayne. Don’t miss the exhibit on Annie Oakley and the cowgirls of the west, and how they shaped the trajectory of rodeo and the western arts. From soldiers to horse shows, rope tricks to gun fights, there’s so much interesting history to learn!

LIVERY STABLES BARN is a rustic 2-story barn dance hall thoughtfully decorated with antique farm implements and has rustic charm. It features a first-floor dining are with round wooden tables and chairs and tavern tables with bench seating for 125 people, as well as a balcony and bar area. The stage is wired for premium sound and has a 55″ tv screen. The Livery Stables has a full kitchen with commercial dishwasher, bathrooms, a quiet anteroom with rocking chairs and a wood-burning stove. Decorations and table cloths available upon request.

THE JAIL is always a fun stop for kids and adult-sized outlaws alike. We can lock you up for a photo! Don’t miss the horse-drawn paddy wagon, which makes for more fun photos!

THE BLUE MOON SALOON is a neat little establishment where you can go in and grab a table. If you’re lucky, you brought someone who can play the upright piano. If you’re not so lucky, you’ll probably quickly leave. Maybe play a hand of poker at the table? (Note: no food or beverages are sold at Circle M City, no gambling is allowed.)

COMER’S CHAPEL and YELLOW PINE OPERA HOUSE are great venues for weddings
